The inside is what counts!

Happy Saturday!!
It has been a delightful day in Robinland. I went for a bike ride with the kids, went out for lunch with the big man, did a little gardening and basically just took it easy.
We were excited today because my mom was coming up for a little visit. We love when "BeeMa" comes - she's a rockin' good time.
Well, being the somewhat nice daughter that I am, I decided to make lemon poppy seed cuppies with coconut frosting. I thought I'd spruce them up by baking them in ice cream cones. This is something I've never done before- obviously!! I followed the instructions and everything and they ended up bubbling up over the cones like lava shooting out of a volcano. Not pretty at all- and you know I like pretty little things.Well, now it is my mission to make a completely delightful ice cream cuppie. Local friends be warned!! I will be trying cone cuppies on you all summer.

I will say that the cuppies were delicious. The coconut frosting with the lemon was quite delightful.

Speaking of delightful, have a delightful weekend.

What a Hoot!!

My new favorite site is the esty store. I just spent over an hour looking at all items that fall under the owl category. Owls are now my new favorite thing. I don't mean the scary, evil, coming at ya owls either. I am referring to the cute, fat and very happy owls. You can buy owl purses, hair pins, rings, t shirts, cards- well just about anything. I am smitten.
My favorite was a scrabble tile necklace with a little pink owl on it. I refrained from making a purchase but man I don't know how long I can hold out. I also saw the most adorable print. It had an owl and a lady with a cup of coffee. She had crazy brown hair and sleepy eyes- ME!! I am tempted to buy it, frame it and hang it in the kitchen. It was a happy little print I tell you.
Well, enough is enough, I must step away from the computer. Owl be back.

My picks for fab ipod music

I truly enjoy a good tune. I can remember many, many songs from my youth. When I was growing up the A.M. radio was always on- crackling loud- real loud. The songs were so different then but, so was the world we lived in. Everyone should take a trip back in time and visit the tunes of yesteryear. This is easy to do now that there is Itunes and other various venues to log on to and explore.

My husband gave me an ipod for Christmas. I went right to itunes and started my search. Here is a list of must have favorites from years gone by:

1. Photograph by Ringo Starr- This song happened to be popular during my parents split therefore it is a sentimental favorite
2: Under Pressure by David Bowie/Queen- Yes this is the one that Vanilla Ice tried to copy.
3. Somebody to Love by Queen- Queen was a band of very gifted musical talent.
4. If You Could Read My Mind by Gordon Lightfoot- 70's love song at it's best
5. Higher Ground by Stevie Wonder- another musical master.
6. Peace Train by Cat Stevens- I know He's off his nut now and he goes by some other name and don't even get me started on his beliefs. Still, the song is great.
7. Bus Stop by the Hollies- If you never heard this while the dentist was drilling your teeth then you missed out.
8. I Was Made To Love Her by Stevie Wonder- Rock on, Stevie!
9. Everything I Own by Bread- Just a sweet song.
10. I've Been Searchin' So Long by Chicago- Lovely love song.
11. Beast of Burden by the Rolling Stones- The lyrics are questionable but the tune rocks!

I know, a list of 11, what can I say, that's the way I roll. Rock on my friends and have a great Tuesday!!

Who's your daddy?

Happy Monday!!
Yesterday we celebrated Father's Day. My children have been blessed to have one super-duper dad!! Mr. T is a good egg. The children and I have made a list of what makes their dad so fab:

1. He is cool to hang out with.
2. He practices softball with me.
3. He is helpful.
4. He brings home the bacon.
5. He does a mean scissor kick.
6. He is kind to others.
7. He works hard and takes good care of us.
8. He listens to us.
9. He tells us he loves us.
10. He gives hugs and high fives.

Mr. T is a keeper- for sure. He is a blessing to us all and we love, love, love him!!!

You say it's your birthday-Happy Birthday To You!!

Today is my dear friend Sandy's birthday. She is a good friend. If the world was at my disposal and I could get her fun and fabulous gifts here are a few things she'd be getting from me:

1. A day of being Tammy Trent's backup singer.
2. A day of dancing with Kevin Bacon- You gotta cut loose- footloose!!
3. A day of reading- no interruptions
4. A day of movies- continual- make sure you make good movie choices
5. A garden full of flowers that don't require any watering, weeding or work.
6. I'd totally overhaul the" bonnie" so it would be a tripped up mom mobile.
7. World peace- We all want that
8. I would transform into a complete sports nut- that way I could share and understand her excitement in that arena.
9. A bachelor that would end well with two good people looking for true love- not fame.

Back to reality. Sandy you're a dear friend- a real jewel. It's a privilege to be your friend. You are a blessing from God. Happy birthday, Friend.
