Greeting friends. Today has been a great day. I got some much needed house cleaning done plus laundry. Yeah!!!! School has started and my baby flew the coop for Kindergarten. I was a little melancholy at first.
I didn't handle my daughter's first day of school well. I bawled like a baby. I didn't even see it coming. Tears just started squirting of my eyes. Teachers were coming up and consoling me as I emotionally fell apart- not pretty.
Anyway, I got through the first day. My good friend, Sandy, had a coffee for all the lonely mothers so that we would be occupied and not fall apart. She is a dear and thoughtful friend.
The best part of the day was picking up my two kids, Mia and Jack. The walked out together hand in hand smiling and laughing together. The sibling bond is something rather special, isn't it? Of coarse as I write this the kids are teasing and fighting. I know they love each other even if they can't stand each other.
The photo is of me and my brother. It was taken on Christmas Eve, 1977. It was the year we were late for the annual Christmas Eve Program. My mom had issues with being on time and was running late. This was the year we had a very uneven Christmas tree. Well, my little bro was messing around with decorations and gifts and the tree fell on top of him. All I could see was two hands and two feet. I could barely hear a plea for help. We got to church just as our classes were walking down the corridor into the gym. We had to walk behind all the teachers. It was
definitely a memorable entrance. We laugh about that moment in time often.
Enjoy your day. Make the most of it and look forward to what tomorrow brings.
